Introduction
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.

O mighty Ruler, God of truth,
for days and seasons setting bounds,

Short Lesson: Deuteronomy 15:7-8
If there is among you anyone in need, a member of your community in any of your towns, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted towards your needy neighbor. You should rather open your hand, willingly lending enough to meet the need, whatever it may be.

Verse
The Lord will hear the desire of the humble.
You will strengthen their heart and your ears shall hear.

Let us pray.
O God, whose Son the Good Shepherd laid down his life for his sheep: We give you thanks for your faithful shepherd, Janani Luwum, who after his Savior’s example gave up his life for the sake of his flock. Grant us to be so inspired by his witness that we make no peace with oppression, but live as those who are sealed with the cross of Christ, who died and rose again, and now lives and reigns, for ever and ever. Amen.
