Introduction
O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.

Hymn     Rerum Deus tenax vigor
O God, our firm and steadfast strength,
remaining in yourself unmoved,
you rule the span of daily light
and guide the course of all the hours.

Bestow at eventide a light
by which our life may never fail,
and grant the glory without end
that follows on a holy death.

Most loving Father, hear our prayer,
and you, O Christ co-equal Son,
who with the Spirit Paraclete
now reign through all eternity. Amen.

Antiphon Our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed: therefore let us celebrate the feast, alleluia, alleluia.

Psalm 125 (126)    In convertendo
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
then were we like those who dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy.

Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are glad indeed.

Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
like the watercourses of the Negev.
Those who sowed with tears
will reap with songs of joy.

Those who go out weeping, carrying the seed,
will come again with joy, shouldering their sheaves.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

Psalm 126 (127)    Nisi Dominus
Unless the Lord builds the house,
their labor is in vain who build it.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
in vain the watchman keeps his vigil.

It is in vain that you rise so early and go to bed so late;
vain, too, to eat the bread of toil,
for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
and the fruit of the womb is a gift.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one’s youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them!
he shall not be put to shame
when he contends with his enemies in the gate.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

Psalm 127 (128)    Beati omnes
Happy are they all who fear the Lord,
and who follow in his ways!
You shall eat the fruit of your labor;
happiness and prosperity shall be yours.

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house,
your children like olive shoots round about your table.
The man who fears the Lord
shall thus indeed be blessed.

The Lord bless you from Zion,
and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children;
may peace be upon Israel.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

Antiphon Our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed: therefore let us celebrate the feast, alleluia, alleluia.

Short Lesson: 1 Corinthians 5:7-8
Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch, as you really are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Verse
On this day the Lord has acted, alleluia.
We will rejoice and be glad in it, alleluia.

Collect
Let us pray.
Almighty Father, who gave your only Son to die for our sins and to rise for our justification: Give us grace so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that we may always serve you in pureness of living and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.

Conclusion
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
